Angela Cooper is Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion at Mutual of Omaha. In this position, she collaborates with stakeholders and leaders to help the company leverage diversity and inclusion as strategic business drivers elevating innovation, decision-making, engagement, productivity and customer orientation. She also has oversight of Mutually Connected, the company’s culture-shaping program.

Cooper joined Mutual of Omaha in 2000 and has held multiple roles spanning the disciplines of communication, change management, project/portfolio leadership, operations management and process engineering.

Angela helped position Mutual of Omaha to lead the way as the first Nebraska-based signatory of the national CEO Action Pledge for Diversity & Inclusion, and the company continues to be actively committed to building diversity and inclusion both inside and outside of their walls.  Mutual has been honored as the recipient of the Human Resources Association of the Midlands D&I Mosaic Award and also the Urban League of Nebraska D&I Champion Award recognizing outstanding contributions to workplace diversity & inclusion. Cooper has also been named one of Diversity Global Magazine’s 2020 Top 10 Influential Women in Diversity.

Cooper is an active advocate for D&I in the local community and the region. She sits on the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce and Urban League of Nebraska’s jointly-sponsored Council for Opportunity, Diversity and Equity (C.O.D.E), whose mission is to build equitable access and opportunity in Omaha. She is Chair of the board of directors for the Gretchen Swanson Center for Nutrition, serves on the leadership board for the Omaha Network – a group supporting executive female leaders in the community, and is active in the Midwest D&I Consortium, a group of 150+ regional organizations committed to the advancement of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Cooper is a recipient of the Ten Outstanding Young Omahans award.
